Taiwan, Taitung County's custard apple harvest this year has been affected by China's sales ban and the economic downturn, resulting in only sporadic orders. Despite being in peak season, local prices have fallen. During the 10-day Chinese New Year holiday, major fruit and vegetable markets, home delivery, logistics, and other transportation industries rested, causing obstruction to the distribution of custard apple. Taiwan's fruits are nutrient-rich and promote a low-carbon diet by using locally-sourced ingredients to help reduce climate change.
In February 2023, Tong Hsing will sponsor Taitung's custard apple farmer's market and purchase 350 boxes for distribution among colleagues. Let us work together to reduce food waste, support farmers, and promote a low-carbon and sustainable Taiwan.
