Human rights protection and management
Since the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights initiated the development of the human rights concept, the global emphasis on human rights has been increasing. TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. supports and complies with the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations Global Compact, the International Labour Organization Convention and other internationally recognized human rights conventions, the Responsible Business Alliance RBA Code of Conduct and other related standards, in order to respect and protect the human rights of our employees. We commit to and protect the following commitments and require our staffing companies to adhere to all of the above.
We do not use child labor, forced, bonded or involuntary labor or exploited people.
Our working hours and rest periods are in accordance with the Labor Code.
We pay our workers wages and benefits in accordance with all relevant legislation

TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. believes that a safe and healthy workplace environment is a prerequisite for employees to work with peace of mind. TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. has always been committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment and necessary health and first aid measures to eliminate the hazards in the working environment that may affect the health and safety of employees and to reduce the risk of occupational accidents. TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. has obtained OHSAS 18001 Occupational Safety and Health Management System certification since 2006 and will promote and complete ISO 45001 Occupational Safety and Health Management System revision and upgrade certification in 2020. This demonstrates TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD.'s commitment to ensuring perfect working conditions, health, well-being and equality of practice for its employees. TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. complies with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Regulations for the Implementation of Workplace Environmental Monitoring, etc. and regularly carries out the following practices and promotes health care and health promotion activities to ensure the health and safety of its employees.

Employee composition
As of Decemnber 2023, TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD. had a total of 3,196 employees worldwide: 3090 regular employees (1284 men and 1912 women) . Tong Hsing is committed to promoting a diverse workplace environment and stands out in terms of gender equality within the electronics industry. In 2023, the percentage of female employees remained high, reaching 59.8%. In our overseas plants, the Philippines site also demonstrated strong gender diversity, with 42% of leadership roles held by women.
Employer-Employee Relations
I. Employee benefit plans, continuing education, training, retirement systems, and the status of their implementation, and the status of labor-management agreements and measures for preserving employees' rights and interests: 1. The employee’s benefits related to measures are as follows to provide physical and mental relaxation, and enhance mutual communication: (1) Employee benefit plan: To ensure that our employees are devoted to work when working and relieve their family from financial burdens, apart from the relevant laws and regulations, we also provide extra insurance to employees to protect them in case of casualties or hospitalization. Employees also receive special subsidies for weddings and funerals, according to the Company's regulations for the matter. (2)Professional physicians are appointed to offer medical care services and conduct various health promotion knowledge advocacy and other activities. (3)The Company provides the employees with a variety of meals (canteen, vegetarian, staff meals or light meals for Filipino employees) and dormitory. (4) Employee benefits plan also includes cash gifts for birthday and National holidays. (5) The Company also establishes independent medical and nursing room which opens 24 hours day. (6) The Company has appropriated more than NT$24,238 thousand in 2023 to fund the employee welfare committee.
2. Retirement system and implementation status In order to provide employees with safety and security at work, the Company has formulated specific measures below per the laws and regulations: (1)The Company appropriates the retirement reserves every year pursuant to the “Labor Act”. Adequate appropriation of the retirement reserves is made through a professional actuary. The pension is calculated based on the service length of the employees and the average salary of the employee over the 6 months before retirement. By the end of 2023, the fair value of the planned assets was NT$ 219,100 thousand. The amounts to be appropriated in the future were presented as the accrued pension liabilities. By the end of 2023, the balance was NT$ 287,259 thousand. (2)In addition, pursuant to the Regulation on Labor Pension, 6% of the monthly salary of the employee (the new retirement system) will be appropriated to the pension and is deposited in the special individual pension account with the Labor Insurance Bureau. The annual salary of the employees before July 1, 2005, was retained in this account. The pension appropriated in 2023 (including old and new systems) was NT$ 89,836 thousand. (3)In addition to complying with the aforementioned relevant retirement laws and regulations, in order to express gratitude towards employees for their contributions, the Company has prepared commemorative medals for retirement as a token of its appreciation towards the retirees for their contribution.
Since the establishment of TONG HSING ELECTRONIC IND., LTD., labor relations have been running smoothly, with various channels of communication available on a regular basis, as well as regular quarterly labor meetings for practical exchanges and communication on relevant issues.
